Having the right clothes could make the difference in getting a job.
The Dress for Success program is modeled after a national program designed to meet the needs of clients transitioning out of unemployment. The mission of Dress for Success is to assist clients in obtaining and retaining employment and becoming self-sufficient by providing each client with 1 professional outfit for job interviewing and 3 additional outfits once employment is obtained.
Dress for Success is a collaborative program of Good Samaritan Services, Inc., whose mission is to provide emergency transitional and support services to the homeless and those in recovery throughout the Central Coast.
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and by appointment
Client Referrals
Clients are identified and referred through community agencies (such as county and social service agencies, schools, and work programs). Clients must meet federal low-income guidelines to be eligible for services.

How Individuals, Businesses, & Organizations Can Help
Individuals, businesses and organizations may help by providing financial contributions or donations of gently-used and/or new business-appropriate clothing, shoes and accessories for both men and women. Heavy-duty hangers are also needed, particularly specialty hangers for suits, pants, and sports coats. Donations may be dropped off at the Good Samaritan Services administrative office at 731 South Lincoln Street in Santa Maria.

Collaborative Partners
Good Samaritan Services is collaborating with the Center for Employment Training (CET), a non-profit organization which is dedicated to providing hands-on job training, has generously decided to donate office space for the Dress for Success program. Students of CET will benefit from the program as well. Dress for Success is also supported by the United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County.
